JOB TITLE: SECOND SHIFT LUMBER YARD FOREMAN (Charlotte, MI)

 
DIVISION/DEPT.: Operations

 

Shift Schedule:
Monday-Friday 11:30a-Delivery Truck Load (Overtime as Needed based on Customer Requirements)
 
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Supervises yard/warehouse/shop workers in the receiving, stocking, pulling, machining, and loading of merchandise. May personally perform duties listed. Helps keep yard and shop maintained well, clean, organized and safe.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Unloads or oversees the unloading and storage of incoming lumber/plywood/retail merchandise. Ensures merchandise received matches orders. Specifies which packs are to be inspected before release for sale. Monitors receiving process to confirm proper tests are run on incoming lumber inventory.  Supervises and trains Yard/Warehouse/Shop Workers.
 Maintains a clean, organized, and safe yard/shop environment including warehouses, fences andopen areas..
 Organizes yard and warehouse layout according to merchandise needs.
 Completes required inspections and forms. Ensures preventative and operational maintenance is performed.
 Oversees lumber/plywood inventories and effects inventory adjustments in all databases, as needed, to maintain accuracy.
 Monitors lumber/plywood inventory accuracy and reports all inconsistencies to Operations Manager.
 Ensures compliance with operational safety and security policies and procedures.
 Maintains accurate inventory counts. Monitors mix of products in each warehouse and adjusts inventory locations in cooperation with Operations Manager.
 Supervises/Develops Company daily delivery schedules and modifications as well as delivery maps.  Fills duties and responsibilities of absent staff members as needed.
 Attends and participates in all Company-sponsored training programs as required.
 Carries out Foreman responsibilities in collaboration with Operations Manager: interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems; maintains and develops yard processes; continuously measures performance of yard processes.
 Insures proper staffing levels and assignments based upon operational needs, including scheduling overtime for staff and self.
 Other responsibilities as assigned by Operations Manager.

 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
One to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
 Ability to read and write.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to generate and interpret bar graphs.  Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.  Good interpersonal, communication and Customer Service skills.  Knowledge of building materials products and lumber required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 Ability to stand and walk.

 Manual dexterity.

 Ability to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

 Strength: lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

 Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions.

 Work in high, precarious places.

 The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Shift Schedule:

FIRST: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm

SECOND: Monday - Friday 11:30 am - 8:00 pm with overtime as needed based on delivery schedule.

 
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Lumber Warehouse Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the lumber warehouse, including receiving, storing, and sorting lumber for shipment and customer pickup. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic , attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Learning and performing order processing, packaging, and fulfillment.
Operating a forklift safely and efficiently.
Providing secondary machining services-- with training to be proviced onsite
Working in outdoor weather conditions year round primarily under covered warehouses with close access to heated/cooled office spaces.
Assisting customers and communicating effectively with the team.
Supporting warehouse organization and upkeep.
Contributing to a safe and productive work environment.

SKILLS YOU NEED:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Forklift experience or willingness to be trained. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to lift 50lbs. and pass a pre-employment physical

JOB TITLE: delivery driver, cdl-a or cdl-b

charlotte mi location

OVERVIEW:
Full-time position - Reporting 6:00 am - Monday through Friday.
Spend most days driving CDL-A truck, making customer deliveries.
Most trips return home the same day.
Guaranteed 40 hours at regular pay, overtime is common - when not scheduled to drive, maintenance or production work will be assigned, shift ends at 2:00 pm. Daily delivery schedules may vary.
Deliveries range from less than 100 miles and one-stop to 400 miles and ten stops.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a clean and organized truck.

Compliance with operational safety policies.

DOT Pre-trip inspections.

Review of delivery route.

Communication with next customer to arrange arrival.

Some hand assisted off-loading required.
